PET Predict Trial

Dr. David Webster 4 April, 2018

The PET PREDICT TRIAL was the PET Steering Committee designed trial on women with early stage breast cancer. It was this trial that lead to the unprecedented motions in 2005 from the Canadian Association of Nuclear Medicine, which declared the CCO experiments on Ontario cancer patients as “unethical”; demanded they be halted immediately; and that an independent team of Canadian experts in Ethics and Health Policy investigate how this could have happened in Ontario. These motions were dismissed by the Minister of Health Mr George Smitherman, and CCO. To this day we remain on the only medical jurisdiction in the world that refuses to accept that PET/CT can provide critical information for women with more advanced forms of breast cancer.
